The compatibility of laptop with Ubuntu (or any other distribution) depends on the support available in kernel for hardware components. Usually the troublesome components are:
- Internal modem
- Wireless network card
- SD card reader

The purpose of this page is to list the laptops available in India that are generally usable with Ubuntu.
NOTE: General usability only covers working of existing components. It doesn't cover features like dual monitors, port replication etc.
